Better to come either the latter part of week prior, and catch part of the first week, or come the latter part of the 2nd week and stay a few days after the rally is over as this way it won't be cluster *** for ya's the whole time.
Went in '06 for the first time and loved it so much. Sure remember the trip like if I just got back home from Sturgis yesterday. My friends are going this year while a few friends and I'm going down to Blue Ridge Parkway, Deal's Gap and Devil's Triangle.
6th year for me; have a standing motel reservation (deposit not required til May), but am also researching different options to see if I can shave the cost down some. I'll be there, as usual, from the Aug 1 - Aug 8.
Last year sucked, because I had to drive my truck up due to the events of 04/25/08...but I was there; did some demo rides, hung out with friends. Looking forward to riding my new Ultra up...
Who is ready for Sturgis 09? Its cold here in Missouri and all I can think about is getting back to the beauty of the black hills.
Just secured our rooms at the Four Aces Casino in Deadwood yesterday. I don't spend much time in the actual town of Sturgis anymore. Going to ride North to Western Nebraska, meet up with an old friend and roll from there.
I get out there quite often. I live on the eastern side of the state about 400 miles away and get out there for Sturgis for sure and probably once a month through out the summer.....do the Corvette rally too. We even have a poker run that goes out to Deadwood the end of June, had over 300 bikes in 08. That takes 2 days but there is close to 20 bars to stop at on the way. Leave early Sunday morning and usually home before noon. Looking forward to the summer of 09...the high this weekend is -5.
