I just made plans this week to go for the first time. I'll be staying in Spearfish. I am very much looking forward to it.

rode to Sturgis four times in the past 10 years will not go again for Bike Week there's just to much traffic, to many people and to much bs to really see the BH's. i have a friend who moved out there for work a couple of years ago and he said come out in June the weather is better and no crowds.
i will say if you have never done the ride you need to experience it at least once it is a wild time. ride on.

Make sure they keep their tops on in the streets of Sturgis though. If not it will be a quick trip to the slammer.

This will be my 20th consecutive year. I don't know why I continue to return year after year. I stand on Main St and ask myself, "what the hell am I doing here?" Look around at all the commercialization that has taken place and think back 20 years, it sure has changed. But like everyone has said, it's beautiful country up there. But you know what? As soon as I get back home, I'm looking forward to next year.

The wife and I are staying in Rapid City. First time for us. Got a nice hotel room with a jacuzzi for the week.

Where does everybody stay when you go to Sturgis ? We would like to find a cabin, or a camping trailer all ready set up or a house to stay in close to Sturgis. Any info would be great. We have been 3 times and the camping in a tent is over for us looking for something a little more comfy.

Have gone 6 out of the last 7 years. Always stay at Glencoe. It's the people that you meet that makes it all worthwhile. Last years rally the crowds seem to be down a little and it was nice...still crowded but not as crazy as it was getting when the boom was on (all the TV shows). I imagine this year it may be even more so with the ecomomy the way it is.
