Default Belching fire through throttle body

I cannot figure out what happened.... I took the tins off for painting. While I was doing that (2 and a half months), I decided to do some other things:

1. 2 into 1 exhaust
2. throttle cables
3. wash with Simple Green solution to reach the grime on the engine and frame.

When I put it back together, I noticed that it was hard to get the fuel assembly to seat right on the tank flange; I had to push it down a little to start the screws.

Now, when I start it, it fires right up and idles for about 30 seconds and then intermitently coughs fire into the throttle body and eventually dies.

I have checked for loose plug wires, and I think it is getting enough fuel. Is there any ideas?

Thanks!

Sounds like mabe your paint guy might have pluged the fuel lines. What year bike are you playing with ? Is the fuel pump in the tank ?

Sounds like mabe the fuel lines could be still pluged from the painter . What year are you playing with ? Is there fuel tank in the tank or gravity feed ? Check those fuels to see if someone capped them .

Sounds like a fuel issue. You may want to check the fuel pump assembly, there may be a reason you had trouble installing the flange. I have never taken one apart, so I am just guessing.

It's a 2002 RK FI. Thanks for the info. I will start at the pump screen and work forward. Is there a filter in the fuel pump assembly?

Make sure the line from the tank to intake is clear. Start at the easy points. Disconnect both ends and blow threw it , making sure its clear.
