I am sooo glad to see this thread! I thought I was an idiot for not being able to get rid of that damn gap! I tried everything when I first put it on a few months ago, and I damn near stripped the screw tightening it as much as I could-and that damn gap is still there. I am sorry it is causing everybody such greif, but I am glad its not just me!! [sm=sigh.gif]

Hi There,
I am new to this forum, so please bear with me. I am not a mechanic and do very little of my own work. I read this thread with much interest and after some careful shopping bought these rings for my 05 RKC. Being a mental health therapist, I reasoned, what are the chances the directions are written for an idiot (mechanically speaking) like me? SO.....I followed the directions, EXACTLY AS WRITTEN. After loostening the original ring's screw and wiggling the new frenched ring into place I tightened the new ring and then the old one. Then snugged the new ring down...Guess what? Thats right, NO gap, no loose fit, looks like it belongs there, which is what I was after. 1 screwdriver, one person and about 25 minutes, mostly reading and re-reading the directions which I admit did NOT make a lot of sense the forst few times I read them.
Go figure
Mike

The bezel 'gap' ain't no different than bad teeth on a beautiful woman[:@]. I wish HD would fix this problem...its been talked about here on the forum and there really aren't any easy fixes.

I have the head lamp nacelle installed on my Fat Boy, have the regular trim ring (nor the visorshape one). Fits perfect. All visor shaped trim rings I've seen in tourers won't fit nice...

Regards.

Mine snugged up fine once I took BigDaddy's advice and carefully re-read the instructions. I had to loosen up the original ring a lot and then do quite a bit of wiggling and fitting of the new cover. Then I snugged both up and the gap disappeared!
