Well I did it,I called Zanotti's and talked with the parts people. It turns out that the H-D website is wrong in naming the colors on the Tour Packs. It seems that the PN# 53270-COR says it is the two tone Anniverary color but it only has the black on the lid and thats it. The PN# 53325-08COR says it is only Anniversary Copper, but it is also Vivid Black and it is painted like the Ultra with no lights. So it has the black stripe down the side to match the front fairing with the black on the lid also, plus it also has the pinstrip to match. It costs $50 more but I think it looks better to match. I will post some pics in a month or so when I get my parts.
I gotta give a total 10 to Zanotti's H-D. I pulled the trigger on my King Tour Pack/Classic Style and I could not be happier. These guys worked with me all the way to the end. I paid a total of $1,100 for everything to my door. The best thing is they told me to be prepared to wait 4-6 weeks because of the painted parts but I got everything all at one time in LESS THEN 2 WEEKS,I could not believe it. Kuddos to Zanotti's. Talk to Patty in parts she knows her stuff.
Great looking RG. I have the same bike and have been using the detachable tour pack. I do take mine off and on depending on the length and type of ride. A day trip in the summer the pack stays home, it looks cooler and handles a little better without it. It's off & on in five minutes. My wife rarely rides so I use both a solo and two up rack.
You may want to consider the Ultra pack if you do much night riding. The lights make you a lot more visible, it comes with a liner, and I like the chrome trim on it. As you can see by the attached pic mine is solid copper pearl. I ordered the wrong number accidently; didn't even notice it for several weeks but I like it, less black to try to keep looking good. Check with a dealer to insure you get the correct model #.
after you put it on, you may find that the passenger would like a little extra room. if that happens, i suggest the george anderson relocation kit. i don't have his contact info, but if you do a search for 'george anderson' here on the forum, you'll find it. gives you a little more adjustability. great guy, great product....
Ok so I bought one of those locks for the detachable tour pack and when I installed it there is not enough room to use the key to unlock it. The key seems to be too long. Is there any other way to install this thing? Any info please,Thanks.
