Oh yeah, Is the noise you hear at idle or when moving. Or, should I check it at idle or running it down the road?

I can really hear it at cruising at about 2500 rpm and almost the same noise at a stand still at about 1900 rpm

Hmmm, and I thought I was hearing pre-ignition on mine. About 2200rpm lightly roll the throttle and you hear a light hammering up front. I have not noticed it since I had the SERT and dyno tune done, but then I've had a helmet on for the few miles I've ridden since then ( I hate Chicago winters! ).

So far my '09 RK is quieter than my '05 EGC was. I've got the stock mufflers on it and the windshield also in the colder weather we have right now. I've got some ticking noises but nothing objectionable and sounds like normal valve noises at the top end.

+1, I got mind out today and I have some ticking or tapping noise, but nothing out of the norm. As a member said, the nature of the beast. I would not even give it another thought. The operation of this motorscoot is very nice and shifting of gears are very smooth. I love my Harley.
