Interesting observation while idling at a stop light....
I was in first gear idling at a stop light. While I had the clutch pulled in as I was ever so slightly letting it out the 6th gear indicator was flickering on and off. If is let it out just enough I could get it to stay on!
Hmmmmmm....
Has anyone else experienced this?
Yes I know it's under warranty so let the shop check it out. It has only happened once that I can remember so if it keeps on happening I will take it in.
08 FLHT and I've never had that happen. I usually put it in neutral when I stop at a light though. I'm gonna try it when I get off work.
It's good practice to put her in 1st with the "clutch in" to be ready for a quick "get away" (evasive maneuver) from somone coming up from behind etc. Thats why most riders have the bike in gear. It's a smart thing to do.
Anyone come up with a simple way to "know" exactly what gear you ARE in motoring down the road? I often lose track (because my mind ain't on that) and at times it would be nice to know if you were in , say 4th versus 5th or 3rd versus 4th etc.

Its called a Tach for a reason....just sayin......as I whistle away.........
I've never heard of this, but I noticed that when little things like that happened on my RKC, the speedometer sensor was starting to go. I can't say that is the problem here, if you start seeing your speedo flicker or the cruise act funny, pull the sensor and clean it.
Well I don't usually sit at a stop light or stop sign with bike in neutral. Haven't seen that happen yet with the Ultra and I asked my wife about her Heritage and she said she had never seen it.
