Does anybody out there, know about the change in the SERT? I have a street glide with a SERT, Letter "D". Will "E" be better suited to this bike?, or is it a "non issue". Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
The latest software is G. I don't know what changed ithe the hardware, if anything for D to E. You may need to upgrade your CD to G if you have an 06. That should be about $20. Whereas a new Rev E SERT would be $300+
I would think that if I bought an 06 (as I have), and the SERT was for that bike (which it is), the dealer would give me what I needed (maybe did, or maybe didnt). For 24k I would expect all of this to be right.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the Rev D hardware. Lots of 06's are running with that. But as days go by the software always gets service packs, fixes and upgrades. The current software is Rev G.
I wouldd think if you had the SERT applied by a dealer in the last 90 days you would have Rev G. What makes you think that you are not? I believe it was released in January 2006. The Rev E hardware was a problem for everyone and still is somewhat.
Stop fretting over the hardware and ask your dealer about the softare and also to explain the differences.

The SERT hardware is nothing but an interface to the ECM on the bike between the Laptop and the ECM and marries itself to your bike and is removed with it's cables after programming and tweaking the map that you load into the ECM using it. The SERT hardware doesn't stay in the bike like a Power Commander so I am sure the only difference between the "D" and the "E" revision is the software CD and nothing else. I can't believe we have to pay $20 for the upgraded software CD after paying over $400 for the SERT.
