Default 2007 Road King Idling Fast

Hi all,
My 07 Roadking is idling fast, like it is stuck on high idle. Wondering if their is something I can do or does it require service?

Thanks!

you may want to check your throttle position sensor, that seems to be a common cause for this from what ive seen

If you haven't, just check air filter. A dirty filter will cause higher revs.

My '07 SG has done this sporadically, perhaps twice in two years, but it doesn't last more than a few hours at most. Hasn't done it in probably six or eight months, and never figured out the cause.

Turn the ignition switch on for 5 seconds then off, go this 4 times without starting the bike. Then start the bike and see if the idle goes back to normal. The FBW throttle control will lose it's idle setting if the bike is not idling when you shut it off. This is what I was told by the dealer when I bought mine. I also read it somewhere else........just can't remember where.

The OP has an '07 non-TBW, so that procedure shouldn't be applicable.
