Pretty much.
I cut it off right there where it starts bending toward front of bike.
Slid right into the front hoop.
Drilled a hole for the bolt.
VIOLA!

I had the dealer add them to my 06 while they were doing some repairs following a wreck. I remember them telling me that they had to do some sort of modification to the saddlebag bracket to make them work.
I also bought the "comfort profile" style because my wife is short-legged and the regular bars got in her way. You can see the difference by comparing mine to the pics above.

Yea, I got em. Mine's an 09 so I don't know if part numbers are the same or not. Fairly easy to install but none too cheap. Need to replace the existing saddle bag support bars, add the trim rails and also replace the saddle bag guard rails too. If I recall, the whole shootin' match cost me about $600 all total.
Don't hold me to that (price) but I do think I am close. I like the added protection and I do like the looks too. I don't care for "copycat" look alike bikes.

Are those the V&H monster oval slip ons??? If so, MORE PICS PLEASE!!
I was thinking about the classic bars. They are closer together and look a little like they did in the 60's. athey have them for the hard bags and I think they might look better on RG because of the decals.
