Can the cam chain tensioners from a newer model be fitted. I am told that I think 06 or 07 has a new style of tensioners and am not sure if they can be fitted into an 05 set up.

I've read that there are kits to install the new style hydraulic tensioners and I recall that the cost for that kit is about the same as a geardrive setup. You also get the newer oil pump which is a plus. I don't know any one that has gone that way - everybody has gone with a geardrive. Going with a different than stock ('05) tensioner setup only makes good sense. Pick one and go for it, but find a "good" shop to do it. There,s undoubtedly someone here that knows about the new style kit.

do a google search on "Andrew's Harley Davidson Cam Conversion Kit"

I am running the 26N conversion in my '05 Ultra with no problems or worries. I have yet to hear of any failures with this system.
