Default What am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to take the inner faring off to paint and I've got everything out or off except for the throttle cables. I've tried everything to get them off to no avail. I've tried to do it the way the service manual says by rocking them and pulling, I've tried prying nothing works! Is there some secret way of doing this? If anybody has any ideas I'm all ears.

Up by the grip, did you lengthen the cables using the adjustments?

I've taken the grip completely off. There's plenty of slack in the cable.

If youre talking about getting the cables out of the switch housings, be careful. That happened to me and I broke one cable. Theyre supposed to pop out, but one of the rings up in the housing was distorted from the factory and wouldnt come out. It was sprung too wide to come out until I cut the cable.
Look inside the housing and you can probably pinch it with long curved needle nose, then it may come out. Remember going back in one cable is larger than the other, hardly noticable by eye but it is. Good luck.

Had the same problem - just keep working on it - it'll go eventually!
I couldn't see any way to get at it from inside the housing so I just kept pulling on it from different angles.
