2009 Touring Axle Covers Options???
OK all ... this is one of my pet peeves ... I hate leaving the front axle exposed. I had a great set of Gladiator Axle Covers on my 2007 EGC but cannot find anything I like to fit the 2009 Ultra. Pic attached.
The axle on the new bike measures at 1 1/8" (exposed diameter on right side), that's a big difference from 15/16" on the old one. I'm not sure but I think the axle nut increased in side too.
What have you done to cover yours? Let's see 'em! Thanks for your help in advance!

Well, I know how helpful everyone usually is here so from the lack of response, I assume nobody had any input. This is what I did.
I found a pair of Axle covers 15/16", Gladiator Cyclones on Ebay for $35 (usually sell for about $70). I knew they wouldn't fit. The left side did fit but the right was considerably too small. I used my dremel and grinded down the inside until the diameter was large enough. It took a couple of hours and several bits but it turned out great.
I know, it's a small accomplishment but it's the little things that make a big difference.

I put on flush mounted axles and a fork cap for the right fork. Looks great.
Now I went through two different companies (bought two different axles).
One worked. The other didnt.
Be careful of who you buy from.
The one I ended up with, that worked was paul yafee bagger nation.
The other one was too short and after the sale, I was on my own. No response from the seller.

Axle covers
Hey little brother, those came out NICE. Thanks for your old one. You need to get up here to Knoxville this year so we can ride. I have some really nice places to ride. Check out the Dragon on your computer and let me know if you are crazy enough to ride it. Look up Deals gap. It's a crazy ride and if your squirmish you may not want to ride, It's not a scenic ride at all.
