I sold my Fatboy and will be getting a 09 Road King Classic soon.
I know I will be wanting to lower the front and rear after I get it to achieve the look I'm after. I have searched the threads and it seems like a lot of guys are going with the Progressive rear shocks.
I want to maintain or even improve the stock handling and ride comfort, but with a lower profile (without easily scraping).
I have sort of the same question. I lowered my '09 RKC and ride with my wife on the back. Have a leather tourpack too. Here's the problem.... too tight when shocks are pumped up, and bottoms when they're softened. Need to get better ride comfort with and without loading. It's a gorgeously smooth bike when adjusted absolutely perfectly, but really I really need to get it "softer" for her. Have Mustang seats, so seats aren't the issue. Either better shocks or return to stock height. I'm not that tall, so I'd like to keep it owered. Anyone out there is any suggestions or similar experience?
if u want looks a shorter shock ,but it will be stiffer (to avoid bottoming) if u want a good ride a longer softer shock but handling will suffer.if u go to short or soft be careful of bottoming it will rub the taillight wires.
