Check out EZshift. I put the EZbrake on my new bike and it is all the difference for my big feet. I can now utilize the entire board. The shifters move forward 2" and back 1". This allows you to set the heel shifter very low as well as giving you all the board for your feet. Shifters will be my next investment.
Just cut it, and section in a new piece to make it longer. Weld her up, grind her down and call it a day. Atleast that's what I would do if it were me.
OK wiseguy (KBES BAGGER) however I like how you think. My problem is I do not own a Welder. How bout you do this to yours, send it to me, & I will send you mine??

I added the Walters Workshop extended shift lever in the dealer's parking lot before I rode my bike home. In my test/demo rides, my 10 1/2's didn't quite fit in the stock set up.
Personally, I love the heel/toe set up. I got used to it quick. Just needed a little more room. The Walters lever looks just like stock, but is 2 1/4 inches longer. I put it in the rear (heel) position. Looks great, works great.
The walters lever is about $80. They were great to deal with, and gave me some tips to make it an easy install.
