Got a RG that has the HD Security system. I don't have the owners manual. So I set the security..and bumped the bike to set it off, siren didn't work, but that's a different story..lights flashed. Then I press the button on the key fob..lights flashed twice. I unlock the bike and the red security key keeps flashing on the speedo. I press the keyfob again..lights flash twice..and the red key keeps flashing. How do you disable it??
As far as disabling the system...i don't think you can turn it off. You can set it to transport mode for trailering so the lights don't flash the whole time.
the key light will flash when the key fob is not in range of the bike telling you that security is armed. When the key fob comes in range I think my light either goes solid or turns off...enabling you to start the engine.
depending on what year, my '05 RK you press once to arm and the lights will flash 2 times, press fob twice quickly to disarm and lights will flash once.
You do really need to post the model year the alarm systems have differed slightly over the years, you may not even have a siren installed that was actually optional as well on some years

That was it..thanks. 2 quick presses of the fob. I tried all but that..long presses, holding it..nothing worked. Sometimes it's so simple you miss it!
Thanks guys.
Cool, happened to me to first time I tried the one on my used bike, but I got lucky hitting it twice and figured it out.
Did you figure out whether it had the added siren package or not? I don't know why the alarm doesn't come w/ a siren, as most car alarms do, or honk the horn or something...
Nope, I haven't looked at that yet..not even sure if it has a siren or where it would be mounted... That will be tonight's mission..along with disassembling my rear fender
