affordability/class
Some people will never learn that it's not what you have that makes you who you are..in the end it's how you live and how you treat other people. Some people are such azz-hats.

If you buy a bike so you can "belong to a class/lifestyle" that's YOUR choice... and I hope you're happy with the results.
Whether a person pays $8500 for a used EVO, or a new Honda, is as much their choice, as someone paying $35,000 for a S/E...
I'm particular about the PEOPLE I ride with... not the bikes they ride.
Everytime you write "So why did you buy a Harley?" You sound like the AFLAC Duck.
I boughta Harley because I could afford it and I wanted it. Most importantly I just want to ride. I just want to ride nothing more nothing less.
Ducati, BMW, Augusta, Triumph, Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha are all fine rides.
I hope this post was tongue in cheek, and does not truly reflect your sincere beliefs. Telling people on this forum they don't have a "right" to talk to us if they ride "jap (sic) scrap"? You must be joking. It is difficult to judge someone based on one post, and it is probably unfair of me to try, but Frankharley07, you continue to add to and expand the body of evidence that suggests you have more than just a strong affinity for Harley Davidson motorcycles. That affinity of course is quite normal. Most of us on this forum ride Harleys because that's what we like, and many have other brands of motorcycle as well. What is not normal is the striking intensity of your disdain for those who choose another brand of motorcycle. You display the classic, textbook definition of "masculine overcompensation" with your behaviors. Usually this overcompensation is due to the subject's own feelings of inadequacy or inferiority, either from an economic, class, or physical standpoint. This is usually demonstrated in adolescent boys who are insecure about their own masculinity, or in aging (middle aged) males who are compensating for a loss in another area, shortcomings in other areas of their life, or never achieving satisfaction, respect, or success at all. Poor education? Low social status? Past or frequent rejection or failed relationships? Economically (earnings) way below what you feel you should be making, or envious of others who make more and aren't (in your opinion) deserving? In the middle aged man presenting with masculine overcompensation, their answer is to sometimes purchase a Harley. The purchase itself is significant. Instant belonging to a "group" (thanks to very shrewd and finely executed marketing by the MOCO). The perceived affluence (whether or not it exists) that may have escaped them most of their life. Ownership of an inanimate object that they can now base their previously undefined and unrewarding "lifestyle" around. They now have a purpose on which to base their life, wardrobe, music, jargon, and social activities! A new direction, instant Brothers of the Road, soulmates all brought together through the magic of a down payment! Along with their newly purchased self-identity (sadly based on the purchase of a particular brand of motorcycle), they often begin to exhibit exaggerated opinions of those who are now self-perceived by the overcompensator as inferior, or using a popular colloquialism "Wannabes". This of course means anyone not choosing and worshipping Harley Davidson. On the other hand, most mature, lucid, and normal folk appreciate the fact that not everyone wants, covets, or dreams of owning a Harley nor has had to settle for something lesser, thereby making them a lesser person. Most folks buy a Harley because that's what they like or want (and maybe it is only because of the visceral desire for one), but not to rub other's noses in the fact that THEY don't own one. Those who do buy a Harley for the later immature and psychologically misguided reasons will soon find themselves surrounded by other miscreants of the same ilk, as these are the only people who will continue to associate with them. Most Harley owners are into their bikes, and choose to ride them because they want to...not to feel superior over others or to compensate for some vacuous loss or deficiency in other areas of their lives. I'll ride with anybody, I don't care what anyone else rides, and I sure don't judge them as a person based on a brand of motorcycle, the size of their house, or their bank account. Now is the time the average overcompensator inserts a "if I had to explain it you wouldn't understand", or a "F-U", or even the classic "I'll bet you're riding Jap Crap" etc. Perhaps you might even throw in a "I know you are, but what am I?" To sum up, I truly hope your post was in jest, and intended to stir the pot. If not, please seek some professional help. Best Regards, A06
Me? I don't like anybody. I don't give a schit what you ride.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
A true biker will always appreciate another biker regardless of what they ride. They ride therefore they are bikers, and the only class between true bikers are the cool people who appreciate the ride, the people and the destinations, and the azz hat wannabe's who think they're bikers just because they own a Harley? (this is where you fit in)
Harley Davidson's are an extension of our souls, and yes partly of our pockets. They are some of the most expensive bikes on the planet, but that does not make you cool just because you own or perhaps finance one! What makes you cool is being cool and that is having respect for other bikers and treating them equally, unless they of course one is an Azz Hat; such as you are. Don't forget, before most people ride or own a Harley, they are likely to own something foreign or domestic, and most won't own a Harley until they come into their own and can afford one.
Money or material objects don't separate people, azz hats and cool people separate themselve's, just as you have one. Go find another forum to rant in, and make sure I never see you broke down on the side of the road up here in Canada Eh, cause I'd laugh at you as I rode on by.
