Anything will work for a short trip. If you are going to ride for 1/2 hr. or longer, invest in a set of Gerbings heated gloves & jacketliner &..... Yes you can probably put on enough clothes to keep warm, but you reach a point where you can't move safely. I've been there and done that.
+ one on the Gerbing heating gloves I ride in the gloves and the Jacket liner down below 30 degrees and always toasty warm. If you are not looking into making the investment on heated equipment, check out the Hugger gloves on my site the lined gloves are really warm plus all the Hugger leather is 100% water proof read the artical on the home page.
Hi thank´s what do you think about IXS gloves , do you know the York model? I know Gerbings , but what do think about Vanson and Foxcreek leather gloves?

I went with the Winter buster by Glove Guys. Like them at first, though they were pretty bulky. but within a week or so the liner on the left just came apart. I sewed it together and just use them if it's too cold. To give glove guys credit though, they refnded my money with no problem.
For cold weather riding, can't beat the heated gloves, tried to avoid them for years, now I feel like a sap for not going heated gloves and insoles sooner!
Down to 40 degrees or so I'm fine wearing the Harley thinsulate gauntlet gloves. Below that and I wear the Gerbing G3 heated. As Fasthoss said, once you wear heated, you regret not getting them sooner.
