Good luck, Sparky01! Hope yours goes as well as mine did. I had the diskectomy and fusion of C-5/C-6 about 14 months ago, and when I woke up after the surgery, the numbness and nerve pain were gone! It allowed me to get back to normal activities. I started walking a few hours after the surgery, which the doctor said helped to speed up the recovery. I was back to work in 3 weeks.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Good luck on the surgery. I also had back surgery years ago. Recovery took some time. Don't rush it. Mine worked out great. No pain and just a little leftover numbness(not in the head). Again, good luck!

Good Luck. I had it done in 2001. Just one disk. If your doc doesn't tell you to get physical therapy, tell him you want it. You need to learn exercises to get your neck loosened up for at least the 1st year (IMO). My neck was better after the 2nd year than it has ever been, and still is.
