Arggggggg!!! I just got the RG together after some mods, couple of hours in the garage and one trip to the parts dept. at the dealer. It was in the low 50's Saturday and I wanted to get out for that ride. Was making a left turn and I either leaned too far or hit a slick spot, but pretty much wiped out the left side. Dealer has it now and waiting for the insurance adj. to come out to see it. Fortunately, I didn't have my daughter with me, this was the test ride before she would have gotten on. Also only a few scratches for me. Crap and its going to be in the 60's on Tues.
marvincbr,
Glad to hear you're okay after going down. That really sucks; I feel your pain.
Hopefully your bike isn't too bad off; mine had to be totaled New scoot should be here in late March and I can't wait. 11 mos without riding (except 3 demo rides in Sturgis) has been really tough!
When you get back on the road, your awareness levels will be increased.
Does your daughter wear full protective gear (leathers, helmet, etc)? If not, perhaps that should be the first order of business, so that 'if' the unthinkable happens, at least she'll have some added protection!
Glad to hear you're OK... I too have kids and am wondering when the time is right to let them ride with me?????????
My son started riding with me when he was 5. They have to have a good knowlege of what's going on though. My son enjoys riding, he is 14 now, but when he was young he would turn around to look at stuff, and move around in the seat. I thing he timed it perfect, but he would always adjuect his butt when I was in a curve! Long rides are not too good for little ones either. A trip around the block, or down the road is exciting, but a three or four hour trip is boreing, and they get tired. I brought my son on a family oriented (no bars) poker run, and he got bored. His butt hurt, and there was nothing to do at the gas stations we stopped at. At the final stop, we was in a parade, and they had a band, and food, so he had a good time, but an all day run is not that good for them too young.
