Default Heavy Breather questions

For those with the heavy breather does it interfear with your leg position on the boards? I know it comes with a water sock, but if you get caught in a downpour will it suck water into the engine?

Default Not a problem.

I haven't gotten caught in the rain yet but I think you would be ok with the sock. Not even close to being a bother to your legs as I thought the same as you before I bought it. You will love the look and you can hear it sucking the air.

Dude, don't tell the rice rocket boys that you can hear your Harley suck. It won't be a happy time at Bike Night.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but I had it in my mind that was the breather I wanted. I talked to three different techs and they showed me dyno sheets that compared that breather to the SE part # 29260-08 that looks alot like the stock one.

Everything else being equal, that breather seems to be a very mediocre performer at best. Will not give numbers like the part # 29260-08. It does look cool though.

I am not trying to tell anyone not to use it. Just sharing what I have observed.

Yeah, that's a good price. I imagine that was before shipping correct?

I heard just the oposite from others, and some more or less agree. I think it's a matter of looks more than anything, and getting rid of that ugly football! I do also like the look of the A/C on the SE RG. I hear that's available now.

I would agree that it is about looks. A 1450 or 1550 is not drawing a huge amount of air so a K&N behind the football cover is as open as the heavy breather-or close enough anyways. It does look alot better than the football thought! Just tell sportbike kids you get 15Hp from it

I love mine and when you go with a Bigger inch motor it helps a Little. I have rode mine in rain and believe it or not snow and never a problem...
