Hey man long time no talk...

I am talking to Jevon at Pickard USA about making me some custom axle caps and A/C cover to match the Accutronix stuff. I am also upgrading the fog lights along with some other little odds and ends. Just the little stuff that I never did.

I finally replaced all the air lines (got tierd of them blowing on me), and also replaced the clutch cable and re-routed it.

Thank you all for the condolences, I think I would feel better if I were riding the bike and it I went down.

Just another excuse to work on something though...

I had a clean record for 28 years, then last year it happened backing up. Put some plywood down over some mud, then my right heel got caught on the front edge of the plywood while rolling backwards, as my boot lifted so did the plywood, I couldn't get my foot back in time to stop it from rolling or going over. Luckily the bike went in the mud and other than a dirty bike, no damage to either of us.

For me, the story always begins 'There once was this Harley Road Glide and this trailer.' One more reason why I should be just riding it to my destinations. ;-)

Reminds me of a bike I built back in the 80's. I had done some frame work and needed to reposition the kickstand. I tacked the mount to the frame and welded the top side, but must have gotten distracted because ended up taking the frame to the powder coater without welding the bottom side of the mount.

Months later when the bike was complete, I rode it a hardware store in Fresno. While I was inside the store, this dude comes up to me and asks if I had a bike out front. After telling him I did, he said I better come outside. When we got out front, another dude was holding my bike up. The weld (or lack thereof) had decided to give out just as these two were walking by. They said it was moving in slow motion and you could see on the asphalt about a 3" skid mark where the kickstand started to slide away from the bike. The timing was incredible as the bike never hit the ground. I reached down and pulled the kickstand the rest of the way off with my hand.

Needless to say I expressed my appreciation and tried to pay them for their kindness, but they would have nothing to do with it. I would have bought them lunch or something, but at that point could no longer park the bike. Had to fuel on the way home too. Back then there were still lots of stations where you had to pay inside, so I had to ask someone to take my cash inside to the cashier for me.

Anyway, sorry to hear about your mishap. The kickstand is and alway has been the Achilles Heel of motorcycle design. I shudder to think how many bikes have fallen in kickstand related accidents.

Gone down or dropped your bike?
There's a big difference between the two...

Man that sucks. That is my biggest fear dropping the bike in-front of God and everyone. Glade no damage.

Thumbs down

I guess I thought at first glance you had gone down riding but parking the thing and putting a rock under the kickstand. Let me hit you on the forehead to get your attention!
