Oh Crap....
Hey how much is "much" ?
I don't buy into any of that crap about everyone drops or tips over eventually.
I've been riding since 78 and if I had to guess I would say between 350K-400K miles total I think that qualifies as "much" and I've never done it. I'm not saying it won't happen to me, but a lot of the threads I read on here about folks dumping or tipping over is due to inexperience and stupidity (Not all but many of them) and the common answer back to them is no big deal everyone does it eventually. I simply don't agree with that.
This is not saying I haven't been hit I was hit from behind at a stop in 95 and I was a passenger S. of the border in Mexico in 81 and the back-road we were on went from packed gravel to beach sand with no warning and the driver lost control when the front end sank in the sand and we flipped over.
I know we are all trying to soften the pain by saying it happens to everyone, but it doesn't. Resting you bike on a rock, again experience, use a brick, crushed beer can, or a block of wood not a rock.
Dropping you bike at a gas station because you forgot to put down the jiffy stand, again experience. Tipping over in a slow speed turn using the front brake again experience.
Sorry for the long rant, "it happens to everyone" is just a pet peeve of mine

I think wer'e laughing at the same thing - I've crashed, watched my bike slide past me, spent numerous days in the hospital, even had a bike knocked out from under me at a red light by a DD - that to me, with lingering painful memories, is going down.

Never said I was perfect, I just use common sense. Resting your jiffy stand on a rock is not to bright, especially if the rock is large enough for the bike to fall over. Not putting your stand down when getting off your bike for gas is just plain stupid.
I'm not perfect nobody is, but some people don't use simple common sense sometimes. Like I said it is simply a pet peeve of mine for people to say it happens to everyone. It doesn't. And the day I drop my bike at a gas station because I didn't put the jiffy stand down, I will be the first to post it in this forum and eat crow and accept all the bashing and ball busting that will be coming my way. LOL
Have a great rest of the week end guys.
Oh and to the guy that started this thread, Do accept my sympathy, I hate to see anyones bike have any damage regardless of how it happened.
