i'm a motorcycle enthusiast, been one since about 1967, i just so happen to ride a streetglide. who cares, just enjoy the ride. i don't feel the need to dress up like a pirate to go riding, thanks anyway.
The "biker" thing ,I think, started with the 1960s movies. So. If you have tatoos, apehangers, loud pipes, no helmet, rigid or softail, gun your engine at the stoplight, wearing a "cut", long hair, beard, with a joint hanging out the side of you mouth, your signifacant other on the P pad looking like you but feminine. You may be a BIKER. Otherwise you are a "motorcyclist". Either way you are are on two wheels. Ride on.
I personally like being called a "biker", vs. a "M/C Enthusiast". I go to "biker bars", wear "biker clothes", attend "biker rallies", ride with a group of other "bikers", and love to talk "biker sh&t".
What I'm NOT...is a biker "gang member", "Outlaw", Fugative, or outcast. Even if you ride a Suzuki somethingorother, you're still a "biker" to me...and I will respect you.
But I'm not going back looking for my previous post. This group knows me as a biker, rider, poser, or motorcyclist-I am who I am. My neighbors on the other hand think I'm a 'biker gang member' cause there might be 6 motorcycles in my suburban driveway. I don't care.
Don't sweat the petty things...pet the sweaty things!
