Default Dynojet PC-V Poll

Of those of you who have installed the NEW Dynojet Power Commander V EFI controller, How many of you just did "plug n play" and rode away versus then hooking up a laptop computer to it and making sure the "throttle calibration" is correctly set?

I installed mine yesterday and it seems to run just fine. I am wondering if I should go through the trouble to download the necesary software to my laptop and hook it up to check this setting? I'm wondering how many of you actually did that. Comments?

(Mine was from Fuel-Moto and hopefully is pre-set)

MOST RELAVENT QUESTION: For those of you who did hook up to a Laptop, was the setting "off" and did you need to correct it??

Ordered PC-V Friday and do not have a laptop so would be interested in hearing answers also.

Hooked it up to the laptop...but not FOR throttle calibration. I did "check" it with the "% Throttle" guage on the right of the PCV software and once the bike is at operating temperature it read correctly at 0%.

Do not adjust the throttle settings for a TBW bike unless on a dyno...

Many other reasons to load the software...but it is not "necessary" with the fuel moto package. Do what you wish. I just can't leave well enough alone.

Jamie at fuelmoto told me every PC V they have worked with on the 09's had less than 2% deviation in throttle setting so there was no need to mess with it and I didn't, unlike the 06 RK I had which had a 6% or more deviation, just plugged it in and rode, everything appears fine. Runs like a bat ot of hell and gets 40 mpg. I'm satisfied. There's is no big deal if you want to hook a laptop up to it and ck it, its easy, just follow the instructions and if you have any questions, just call Jamie.

Fuel Moto did a great job of setting my PCV up so it was plug and play.

Just ordered mine a week ago and haven't received it yet. However when I do, I will hook it up to my laptop, but not to adjust the throttle settings. I will however load a new base map since my primary configuration has changed (added a SE AC) and I'll also load a secondary leaner map for fuel economy.

But they cannot set the 0 throttle setting until it is on the bike, I asked.

Mine came properly set for 0% throttle... Not to say all do, but this was my experience. You can easily calibrate 0% throttle with a laptop once the bike is warmed up...but don't touch the full throttle settings unless on a dyno.

But the instructions also say thar for bikes with TBW (throttle by wire) which the 09s are correct? - That you need to set this while on a "dyno" and I have no desire or inclination to have my bike dyno-ed. So, hopefully this thing is set from Fuel-Moto close enough?? maybe Jamie will chime in here..

Is there a way to tell if you are correctly set without the laptop? RPMs while idleing etc?

I installed all of my stage I from Jamie on Thursday. Haven't had it hooked up to the laptop yet, but might after reading about the 0% throttle. Not sure what that is about yet, will have to read up on it. I did however stop at the HD dealer by me to talk to a trusted tech about my clunking and he offered to run it on the dyno for me. Result with Jamie's package in the hole I live in is 74hp / 84.52ftq. Tech told me he could only get a couple of digits higher for each with the SEST...Makes me feel real good.

Thanks Jamie!!
