You get what you pay for
* Total Harmonic Distortion: Less than 0.1%
* Signal to Noise Ratio: More than 90 dB
* Frequency Response: 20 ~ 20k Hz
* Output: 75 Watt Max x 2CH @ 0.2% THD / 25 Watt RMS (4 ohm) x 2CH @ 0.05% THD
* Dimensions (in.): 1.5" x 2.5" x 4"
* Power Draw: 2 Amps
* Power: 150 Watts
* Designed for 4 ohm speakers - use with other ohm speakers may void warranties and damage your speakers
* Two-year warranty

Are these considered "bad" numbers? What is the ARC specifications?
What is an ARC amp going for these days anyways?

go to firecap501 website for prices and specs. what it appears is at 4 ohm you are only getting 25 watts root mean square. (rms) factory radio is around 11 watts rms 90 db sig to noise ratio is high also the amp you are looking at doesnt say what class but with the size gage wire it may be a d class amp runs very hot

Save you money and get something that runs cool if you're gonna stick it in the fairing.
I am not sure how the Arc mini is a class A/B, but it must be one of the most efficient class A/B's ever made as it does not get hot... You can crank it for an hour and touch it with your bare hand no problem..

I really dont understand why people ask questions and get all defensive when they dont get the answer they want.. if you want a cheap amp go buy it. I use my radio about 20 percent of the time. I would rather hear the sound of my bike.... but thats just me. I have had lots of experience with car audio and you really just cant substitute quality for price and expect the same results. I would think that any of the systems that are designed to be direct plug in upgrades specifically made for your application would be well worth the cost if you are expecting to have a high quality result. guess thats why i just read and dont post much....

i did alot of searching just as you did for an amp that was a little cheaper and would fit in the fairing. i ended up getting the MB Quart RAB250. with an aftermarket head unit it will fit and i only paid $95 for it. so far it has been flawless in Texas heat. i used a Sony head unit with ipod controls (i just let the cable hang out from underneath the fairing) i put some velcro on the back of the ipod and on the lower part of the fairing and just plug the ipod to the cable and stick it to the fairing. i bought the Biketronics kit and the hand controls work for changing songs on the ipod. i can go through different menus using the head unit controls, never have to mess with the ipod itself. the amp is pushing 2 alpine 5.25 R series speakers and the sound is loud and clear. couldn't be happier
