They are high on Prep..... and they are not dealing on that at all... but I figured that into all my prices, and they still are the best.
I think Jay (my Salesman) knows better to to try to dick me around at all.... He knows I dont have to have these two new bikes (perfectly happy with the ones I have) and I will walk if there is something I dont like.
I tried to buy from them in '07 and got dicked around, I made sure he was aware of that when I went in, and since then he has been trying to make things right. The dealerships are in no position to be alienating customers now and I know he knows that.

Yup, Jay is who I'm dealing with too.
Racine Harley just came back with a match so now I gotta do some more haggling.
Finding a Dealer to match me on the FLHX was not really an issue. Hals would do that without even hesitating. It was the Ultra the made me do the deal at Wisconsin. $16000 for a '07 Ultra is unheard of right now.....full retail on the bike is only like $17000 so I am not sure if he has a buyer for that color or what.
Rip off warning! Racine harley has there touring bikes msrp marked $1,000 over harley's msrp. Jagoffs!
Well, it's not a ripoff. MSRP is just that, manufacturer's SUGGESTED retail price. The dealer can set whatever price it wants. If people are willing to pay for it, then it's more money for the dealer. If not, then the dealer gets less. No one forces you to buy from a dealer with a higher price.
That's capitalism. That's the American way. When you bitch about higher prices, you're being un-American. If your boss offers you a raise, do you call him a jagoff because you really aren't worthy any more than you were last year?
Vote with your wallets, but save your whining for when the government takes over all the businesses and you DON'T have a choice anymore.

I think his point was that they are misrepresenting their dealership price as the "Manufacturers" Suggested Retail Price. A dealer can charge what ever they want, but they can't change a MSRP.

Beary
It could be, but I didn't read it that way. Let's let the gentleman clarify. Just because the dealer posts a price doesn't mean that he's representing it as H-D's MSRP.
