Default Hog Tunes Speakers

This has probably been asked before but I am going to ask again, can I change out just the stock speakers with hog tune speakers and get better sound, or will I need to change the amp too?

Thanks for any help I can get

Each is an incremental step toward better sound. I would get the speakers first and at the same time install these. Then one day when you want to spend another $217 go for the amp. Last, get the Tweeter Pods at $155 (HDForums group buy).

Just did mine yesterday. Just did the speakers and the rubber baffle mats that iclick gave the link to. Happy with the difference. Probably won't go any further doing the amp. This is good enough for me. Rear speakers, rider usually can't hear them anyhow except at a stop.

Got that link for the ruber baffle mats? Is it Dynxorb?

I added the amp and rear speakers (wife wanted to hear the XM). The amp made my front speakers rock...I already had J&Ms.

I have no technical knowledge of speakers, but I was at my buddy's garage when he switched out his OEM speakers on his '06 EG Classic for Hogtunes speakers. The OEM speaker magnets were so weak they wouldn't hold the speaker to the vertical side of his tool chest--they'd just slide downward, while the Hogtunes speakers required considerable effort to pull off the side of the cabinet.

Thanks Guys, Wife told me right after we brought it home that she didin't like how it sounded. She is hard hearing anyway so I thought it was just her. Yesterday took it out for good short/long ride and I hate to admit it, but she is right, don't have the sound it should have. Ok so more big money on it, oh well glad I don't have any other addictions.

Check the wiring first, make sure everything is solidly connected (sometimes the vibration can knock them loose).

I never had the stock HD stereo, but I have a Sony deck (pumps out the same wattage as the HD, maybe a little more). I'm sure an amp would help some, but I can still hear the music at 75-80mph, so I didn't see a whole lot of need.
