I bought a inner fairing and was going to have it painted for my 07 but never got around to it. How long does it take to swap out all the gauges etc? I have had the ignition out a few times and put in the oil temp gauge and HogTunes speakers in the fairing so I know my way around in there.
Also the inner was changed in 08 correct? What's different about the new ones?
TIA
Took me about 4 hours to do it myself on a saturday afternoon. Just label everything and you will be fine. I also took pictures at each step just to help me out if I Had to leave it for a few days.

I've done mine twice now, it's not a bad job. Can be intimidating at first, and looks scary as heck with that big bundle of wires just hanging in mid air, but it's not bad. Couple hours to reassemble everything.
Regarding the changes in '08, I think the only things that changed were the extra screw hole for the fairing wings and there is no hole for the throttle cables.
Couple pics... looks good in the pics but its a little more purple than it needs to be with the tricoat paint but hey. I did it for 94 bucks and its back together and i rode all afternoon..
I love a painted dash. Can't imagine owning a bike without one. I did the labour myself, with a manual. Take your time, it's no big deal. The painter charged me $200.
