OK, OK!! So I'm from So Cal and don't know anything about riding in the rain ( at least not more than for 30 min or so). My Wife and I are planning a trip through NV,AZ & UT, in a couple of months so I guess I will need rain protection. Does anyone have advice on a decent suit? Keep in mind that it probably won't ever get used except on trips. Also a fit question... How much larger do I buy them in order to wear a jacket underneath? Thanks in advance.
Wife and I bought the cheapest HD rainsuits 3 years ago. Cost $99 a set adn have heat shields on leg bottoms and food stirrups. They fold into the hood and pack smaller than the more expensive ones.
As far a sizing, the size already took into account being worn over a jacket. I take a Large jacket, and the Large gear fit perfect over leathers.

Some times on the road you have to ride all day in the rain if your meeting someone a few states over!..I use a gore-tex suit from bass pro , rain can not get up your sleeves and the bibs zip over your boots. I have never got wet with these.
My wife and I used the Frogg Toggs and they worked great for 2 years, then I got a good deal on e-bay and picked up 2 sets of the gray HD ones. Remember when it comes to riding in the rain and staying dry even if you only use them a couple of times a year it pays to have a good set. Hope you have a great trip and Ride Safe.
We use the HD suits, and love them. i know there is many different brands out there, but we would buy these again. We have been caught in the rain many times and have had no problems. In fact my wife is wearing hers in our picture below.

+1 if you only use them once they are worth the money. I took the cheap way out, convinced my self why pay 140.00 for something that I hope never comes out of the bags. That first downpour made me realize I should have went for the harley rain suit.
