Thumbs up flht on the way...

Hey all..Dont post here much, but usually spend hours reading. And had a little question. in december i had to get rid of my heritage softail, due to a long term back injury which prevented me of being able to move the bike around carparks, garage, incline's and such confidently just too heavy for my pain tollerance.so bought a triumph t100 which was easy to move but horrid to ride. since the 09's have been released here now in Aus, and demos are scarce. i wanted to know if there is a noticable difference in weight between the heritage and flht.? on paper i know its about 30kg.but in a real time.As today i sat on a streetglide and thought it was so comfy and never felt that much different to lift.never wanted a radio so paid up front for an 09 flht with lowered front and rear suspension and a pillow seat. Hope that will get me into the same comfort level as the street glide. Will be here in 2 weeks and i am real excited but a little nervous, of being able too move it around. heres a couple of pics of the softy and bonny................

Maybe you keep driving to you find a place to park w/o having to back up much and
if you can't you use hills to your advantage

Congrats on the new bike ands good luck with it. If you have a problem you could always put an after market reverse in.

Invest in a rider backrest. It will keep you upright while riding and it does wonders for my back. It also acts as a leverage point when backing up.

don't think it is going to move any easy the FLTH is still over 700 lbs, maybe look into adding a reverse gear little pricey but worth the ability to get you back on a Harly.

I second that backrest comment. It really makes a grat difference in my back at the end of a day and does give some leverage, looks good with the stock seat too IMO

I had a Heritage Softail and now have a 2009 FLHT and love it! The FLHT handles better, is smoother and feels more nimble than the Hertiage did - you and your back will be happy. I would agree with all other posts on a rider backrest, I will have one on shortly, had one on the last bike and it just makes your day much more enjoyable especially on the longer rides. Mustang seats makes a nice one and they are comfy.
