im looking for a big comfortable seat 2 piece. got to keep the girlfriend comfy too. there doesnt seem to be a big selection for the clasic. can anyone help?
you can go to the internet and do a google search for harley davison road king seat. There are literally 1000's of websights and online stores to buy stuff. Be careful, you'll want to buy a seat that you can sit on before you buy. Seats are too expensive to try it after you buy it. I like going to different dealers and looking at the used bikes because they always have used bikes with all kinds of seats on them.
Duke50, get ahold of the people at Mustang seats at 1-800-243-1392. Ask for there catalog and they can help. Best of all there made in the good old U.S.A. Best of luck, ride safe.
My wife and I really like the Harley Sundowner seat on our new RK Classic. Very comfortable on long hauls and it looks like the stock seat (if that's what you want). However, judging from the many posts on this subject it looks like you can't go wrong with Corbin or Mustang either. JMHO. YMMV.[8D]
I'm with rdking on this one. The Sundowner two up touring seat (HD # 51615-99B) is very comfortable on my 05 RK Classic and looks like it could have been stock. They also have it available as a solo seat, HD# 51928-01 or 51092-04 with a separate passenger pillon #51929-01. If you want to stay with the Classics' look, you should check out these seats.
I have a '04 Road King Classic and put on the Sundowner Touring Seat right away. Both my wife and I couldn't be happier. And I love the look since it matches the RK Classic looks. Something you don't get with the Mustang or Corbin. Sundowner Touring is the way to go IMO. Good luck with your choice.
Seats really are very expensive, it kind of sux. TNW, it's the best upgrade you'll make, and if you think about it, there is no other part of the bike you use as much, 'cept maybe the tires! But then again, you'll have the seat longer.
