Probably would have been more sooty but just by chance check your muffler end caps; looks like bolts I had on some end caps on my old RK.

The only other thing I can think of is my last bike (03 Yami Roadstar) the windshield bolts fell out on the right side. Maybe one dropped out of the left side (since the right side were all loctited up) But I traded it in back in Jan for the Ultra and it looks too clean to have been laying outside since then. But then again what do I know since I have zero mechanical ability.
If it's off your old Yami it would be metric threads. Try to thread it into a nut that you know is either metric or american.

Do you actually think anyone would know where that bolt came from? Your bike, start looking.

Can't tell the size from the pic...
Check to see if it is a screw for holding your
front brake disc rotor on the wheel..

Check the little pouch that is in your tourpac trunk. Lift up the back rest drop down pad and check. Lost both of mine on my old 07. It's like an easter egg hunt isn't it.

Default bolt

Hard to tell in a picture without any reference. Do like the CSI's do when taking pictures. Put a ruler next to the object! Or you could have just measured the thread diameter and told us that.
The screw appears to be a button head cap screw, is it a Torx head, allen head, or Phillips?
