Default Dunlop E3 size confirmation question

Looking to get a set of the E3 Dunlops for my '08 Ultra (stock 9-spoke wheels). Went through a number of previous posts trying to figure out the correct tires to get, and can't find an exact answer. This is what I figured out:
  • Front: MT90B16 72H
  • Rear: MU90B16 78H
Am I correct on these two sizes? I hate to order tires and have to return them if they don't fit when they get here.

I believe you are right, the E3's are only available as blackwalls. I like the WWW and blackwall looks, but hate the stock little stripe. So, the blackwall is fine with me.

Thanks for the size confirmation.

Eeewwww wheee wait till you get those bad boys mounted. Put mine on and rode to daytona and back, NEVER knew tires would make that much diff. If ya got the ABS there is a service bulletin upgrade that Harley will do regards to different tires and a couple a issues w/ABS on the 08 I think it's bulletin #1239

I found the bulletin in this thread: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-with-abs.html

Maybe I'm missing something, but not sure how this would apply as it says it's for Michelin tires, or for ECU changes. Thanks for pointing this out, begs asking another question:

Anybody else that went with the E3's have to get HD to do something due to the aftermarket tire install?

You are correct on your stated sizes. Just an FYI. I just replaced both tires on my '07 Street Glide about ten days ago. I went through the same research you did. I ended up putting a 160/80HB16 on the rear and the size you stated on the front. The 160 is just a tad wider and fits just fine. There was some debate on if it would fit, but I got confirmation from someone who actually did it before I ordered mine. It does fit just fine with room to spare. I'm very happy. I got them from motorcyclesuperstore.com for $256 delivered to my door.

Thanks for the confirmation as well. I got the two sizes I mentioned originally from Dennis Kirk after checking with Dunlop today. I got both for a couple pennies under $214 shipped (front $92, rear $112, free shipping).

Figured with my Ultra, with the passenger and packing weight when we travel, I'd better stay as close to original size as possible. Nice thing is rear gives me more weight rating, and the tires overall should blow away the mileage ability of the stock Dunlops.

LP: thanks for the pics.

I put the sizes you stated on mine before I went to the 105th last year. Have almost 10K on them and still plenty of tread left. Would have been putting a new tire on by now if running the stock lops. The 160's look interesting and will research to whether I try that size on the next change out
