TNTHarley is right. I have 3 herniated discs that two doctors have told me they cannot operate on. So the pain can get bad and I refuse to stop riding. I saw the Back-A-Line at a show and bought it online a few weeks later. It's been over a year and 300 miles is a warm up. I also wear it when working around around the homestead. It really works.
have you considered physical therapy, and or exercise? Sounds stupid but honestly it is the only thing that keeps me from aching. The gym I go to has trainers that have pointed out specific excercises that have strengthed my "weak" areas and it has made a huge difference!
"And yes, a BMW like an RT is better, because the weight is distributed across 3 points of contact: your feet, butt and hands, whereas a Harley puts all the weight on your butt. But a Beemer doesn't have the same fun factor..."
I'd say from that comment, it's not the bike but your riding position. You haven't found the right combanation of seat & handlebars yet. You probably need something to put you in the "cruiser" postion instead of the "touring" position. For me it ended up being pull back bars and a Mustang Vintage seat.

P.S. Took my expensive HD backrest off
Thanks for posting that. I'm going to give that Back-A-Line a try.
Thanks TNTHarley and RoadGypsy. I'm gonna give Back-A-Line a try. Maybe I have crap posture, but I'm not unfit. I run, walk, cycle and do weights, and generally do something 3 - 5 times a week. That's why it bugs me so much.
NativeCustomBaggers.com is your answer. I have one for my '04 FLT. Adjusts to ride at different heights on your back. Very sturdy and comfortable. Check out their web site.
Good luck.
