Sometimes I think about a Road Glide but they complain more about the buffering they we do.
I have also thought about a Road King.
If you want to get rid of the buffering, you will need to get a bigger windshield.
I know it kills the sporty looks, but it works. During the winter I use a 14" Half Moon. No buffering.
I haven't taken a picture of the 14" but here's the 12":
I'm 6' and I look over the 12" and through the 14".
Who is "They?" Because this statement is a perpetuation of another old wives tale in my opinion. Most guys on Road Glides easily fix the problem with an appropriately sized new windshield, such as those quality ones made by Clearview. It's real easy to say that stuff but in reality, your statement "doesn't hold wind."
Couldn't be happier with the batwing. Put it on my Road King. Just get a taller windshield. The SG windshield is basically worthless...(except for the look)
So I guess when I started this post I should of stated that I happy with my glide and buffetting is not a problem for me. Just seen alot of post about it and how people try to cure it. So as many post as I have read just thought maybe people would have thought about switching. But you dont a wide array of answers
what exactly is buffeting? may be a dumb question, but i haven't had any problems. granted i just went to SG from a FXDL and it's still winter, so i don't have a ton of time logged on the glide, but what is the problem/issue? does it only pertain when wearing a helmet?
Having rode a shark nose for some distance I couldnt imagine getting more wind than that thing.............I will stick with the batwing all day........IMO
I took the stock windshield off and replaced it with a MoCo wind deflector.I get a bit of buffeting but it does'nt bother me that much,in fact if the weather is bad and I'm wearing a full-face helmet, the wind-blast keeps the visor clear. Even with an open face helmet and 'bans it's still not bad enough to make me change back to the stock windshield.
I'm 6'5" BTW so I'm always going to be looking over anything other than a riot-shield.

The standard windshield is just about perfect for me and I'm rarely bothered by buffeting except when there's a strong crosswind and, of course, when passing or being overtaken by tractor-trailer rigs.
Stock w/s I'm a shorty and look through the thing,no buffetting,no taking crap in the face,if it rains I sit alittle higher to look over,eg most comfortable bike I ever rode
