Better mpg's like stock cofiguration roughly 42 mpg's or

stage 1 with a much better sound roughly 33 mpg's

Very few have both so that's not the answer.

On fuel injected bikes, it's not a problem to have both. But if I had to pick i'd go for the sound.

I have an '07 Street Glide, 96", S.E. air cleaner, Hooker slip ons, 211 cams and I am getting mid to upper fourties. I have a Race Tuner in it and I am a dyno tuner so I tuned it myself. Oh yeah, the numbers. 91 H.P. and 99 Lbs. of TRQ.

On my Ultra, I have the Stage 1, V&H Ovals, and get around 44 MPG. Sounds great, power is there when I need it, and what I consider to be great mileage for such a heavy bike. So, it is the answer for me.

I have a 2008 EGS and it provides all the power I need in stock config. I don't think I've ever gone WOT, maybe half WOT and it gives me a high just with that. I have Rush slipons 1.5 in baffle with nothing done to fuel/air and it runs great and has great sound. I'd rather have the better mileage and not tinker with the bike. That being said I have thought of going with a Nightrider 02Xied to move the AFR to 14.2 but it's not a must have for me. I'd rather spend my next dollars on a Bagger Brace. I can't believe these guys above me are getting mid/upper 40's. Best I've ever gotten is 42.5 on an all expressway run in 6th at 65 mph. JMHO.

Just did the stage 1 upgrade. I am not sure if the new map has improved yet, but the bike is alive now. I love the sound and performance. I will let Jamie's new map do its thing, but there is no way I would consider going back to the stock set up.

I tuned my bike for power in the 60%, 80% and 100% throttle postions, and I tuned it for effeciency in the 40% and below throttle postions under 2500 RPM's, for power above 2500 RPM's for passing and roll on performance. Last year was the first year I ever had as a dyno tuner where customers were wanting fuel economy over performance, so I had to re-think the whole tuning process to please my customers. I stated playing around with my bike and I basicall came up with a set up that will give them the best of both worlds, feul economy and performance.

Oh yeah, this summer I plan on swapping out my S.E. race tuner for a Power Commander. he new Power Commander allows you to run 2 maps on your bike that you can toggle between via a switch you mount on your handlebars, I am thinking of tuning 1 map for high octane and the other map for ethonal. Then I can run whichever fuel is available when I stop for gas. Just something i'm thinking about playing with.

I use to get 48 to 52 MPG with my old LowRider on the highway now I get 38 to 45 MPH with my 07 RKCustom and I am a lot more comfortable the wife can take her girl stuff too. If you want high mileage ride a moped, but I like big loud fast Harley's that are comfortable.

Same here w/ my '09 RG - Stage I w/ K&N filter, Rinehart slip ons, Mob I oil, Mob I ATF, Mob I gear oil. Can sometimes even squeeze 45mpg. I consider this to be very acceptable for a touring bike.
