Default polished rotors

This may be a dumb question, but it's not the first dumb question I ever asked. I had the front end of my RKC chromed this winter and they also put on polished rotors. My dumb question(s) is does the polished surface affect the breaking, and how long does the outer part of the rotor actually remain polished?

I have em on mine. The center and the outer end remain nice looking. Where the pads touch. That doesnt stay real nice like it was when new. Road grim or sand or anything abrasive getting on the brake pads. Even though the pads are designed for use with mirror polished discs. I think their called kelvar, or something like that. If sand or an abrasive gets in there when the brakes are applied. It will scratch the surface.

The polishing doesnt effect the braking.

The keyword---Brakes and Polish---use the brakes and the polish goes away.

I figured that the polished part where the brakes grab would not remain polished and that didn't really bother me so I went ahead and had it done. But when I saw how shiney everything looked, I just had to wonder whether or not the braking would be affected. But then again, I can't imagine they would recommend having it done if it made the brakes not work properly. I just thought I'd ask the questions, because that's what this forum is for. Thanks for the replies.

EBC Brakes makes an organic pad which keeps damage to rotors low. I have EBC organics on my scoot with chromed rotors front and back. Stops well and doesn't grind the rotors to bits. Stock pads were just too agressive on my rotors.

X2 on EBC Kevlars being polished rotor friendly. They leave a nice satin sheen.
