It's really very easy, but you'll need a 7/16" Allen socket or a substitute to install the filter adapter. This is a very hard tool to find, but you can fabricate a suitable substitute by taking a long 7/16" bolt and locking two nuts on the other end. That will fit in the Allen hole of the adapter fitting and allow you to torque it. Another idea is a 7/16" OD threaded coupler, but I never could find one at the local hardware stores.

You can also get them at sears. I found mine at menards.
