Default Gas cover...Bye Bye

Did a stupid thing recently. Left gas tank closure at pump. Discovered my indiscretion 4 days later, when went for fillup..."What the F^&K" & other choice words. Had the flip lid closed, but forgot to put back the gas cover. On my dyna, this is near impossible, with one piece & no lid.

Gotta get used to this 2 part process in bagger country.

Anyway, someone tell me that I'm not the first.

Got a loan of a friends & will have a replacement Tuesday. Maybe I should get 2??

Did this several years back when I owned an Intruder LC. Closed the lid on the tank and left the cap on the top of the pump.

Yes I did it too several months ago. Now I lay it between the clutch cable and handlebars till I forget its there and ride off and it falls off then I think I will stick it in my mouth.[sm=guilty.gif]

Do you think you need one of those ride bells, they are suppose to look out for this sort of trouble.

I put it in my pocket when I fill up. About four years ago I left mine at the pump. It put a dent in my travel plans.
