Last night I took the chrome bezel off the headlight of my '07 Ultra. I shouldn't have but I was having trouble adjusting the light. I am trying to get it back on without success. It has a spring clip on top that fits in a slot and the screw on bottom. If I get the spring clip in the slot, I can't get the bottom on to put the screw in. If I get the bottom in so that I can install the screw, I can't get the top in the spring clip. I think I have tried everything. Anybody know a trick, or the trick, to get this back on?
Fit the square-shaped portion of the headlamp door spring
into slot at top of headlamp housing and then snap the
headlamp door (chrome ring) into place. Install screw at
bottom of headlamp door and tighten to 9-18 in-lbs
Thank DAWG & TMART. I had tried to put the top in first the the bottom but it didn't seem to want to go on. With the help of both of you, reassuring me that was the way to go, I put some lubricant on the gasket and it slid on without any problems.
