Harley has made bigger mistakes. Look at the FXR. They totally shot themselves in the foot on that deal. They say they were too expensive to make (because of the frame?) So charge more money for it !!! 2-3 hundred per bike. The other side is, they lost the contract with the CHP when the FXR wemt away, simply because they don't have a compatable model. The E/Glides are over their weight limit once the radio eqpt etc is on. how many police depts did they loose? A friend of mine is a San Jose Police Motor Officer.
His work bike is a Road King. (E/Glide last year) He would much prefer the lighter better handling FXR (for work) .
Not to add fuel to the rumor mill, but I heard the RoadGlide fairing is going to stay, but it will be on a different model?? Liquid cooled??
Maybe the Ultra Classic will be fixed fairing model now?? Who knows??
Its fact...............no more Road Glide, Rocker, Dyna Lowrider, Night Train, 883C and Electraglide Standard.....................all Discontinued for 2010.
The Rocker is staying but the Rocker C is gone also the Dyna Low Rider. The Road Glide is Gone But My Buddy at the local dealer only would say that something to replace it is in the works..
