Rumor.....No Road Glide for 2010!????
During this financial tsunami, HD undoubtedly has to cut cost, but maintaining a product line that will still lure in customers.
HD, like everybody else, needs cash flow. It would be a shame if the RG was discontinued, but.....hey, I have mine!!!
Honda: Gold Wing badly in need of a make-over. Just how long can they keep pushing the same old GL-1800? VTX series? Just about dead. Fury? OK, maybe they'll sell a few because its new but not like Street Glides.
Kawasaki: Launching a new revised Voyager that the true died in the wool Voyager fans admit is nothing close to the real deal of years ago. Lots of hype but you still cant buy one yet. Then there's the Vulcan Cruiser line, revised to 1700 cc this year but likewise nothing drastically new.
Yamaha: Just how long can they continue to push the old 4 cylinder Royal Venture touring bike? Out of them all, the Star line of Cruisers has some potential, but no real hard bagger other then the Royal Star which is dated and unchanged for many many years.
So the Japs aren't miles ahead at all. in fact, in this market segment (geezer crowd) they are sorely lacking. The only thing they really have going for them is price. The youngsters gravitate towards crotch rockets anyway and if they live to tell about it, move to cruisers as they get older. They normally can't afford a Harley until they are well into their 30s at the earliest.

for 8 to 10 years.....and by then I'll probably be riding the
electric wheelchair.
Am glad I pulled the trigger last year and not trying to
beat the rush of this year.
Not that I plan on sellin it anytime soon!!!

I think it will be a blacked-out SG (how original) and they will call it the Night Bus. Can't swing a dead cat these days without hitting a Street Glide!
