Default Put on the Anderson Trunk Extender!

Last night my wife and I put on our George Anderson trunk extender. Of course, I forgot to take pictures, sorry for that, but this product worked GREAT. It's built very well and is very easy to install. We put the trunk back an extra 1 1/4 from stock and it worked out fine. Any further back and I would have had to work a bit harder to extend the wires leading to the trunk. My wife thought the distance was great so we left it there. There's another setting of 2 1/4 in case we need to put it back further.

This is an outstanding product and priced very nicely. If you would like your Ultra tour pack moved back a bit, give George a call.

Did you install it on a 2009 ultra? If so what was the price... last time I checked he did not have a 2009 model available... had one on my 2007 and liked it. Also, were the stock wires long enough? Thanks.

I bougth one for my ultra and it fit perfect. 2 1/4" back and the wife loves it, also installed adjustable foot pegs behind the floorboards for her. She said Sunday that it is the first time she has really enjoyed the entire ride. We road 250 miles and no complaints. Usally have to stop every 75 miles to let her off. I can ride all day if I did not need gas, now she can too.

Yes, I put it on my Ultra. It was $162.00 shipped. All you have to do is call him and he ships next day. You just send him a check in the mail. He doesn't even wait for the check before he sends the parts. Pretty darn cool.

Thumbs up

I also installed the tour pak relocator from George and highly recommend it. 162 shipped is also what I payed and really helps give your passenger some extra room that you take away if you install a riders backrest.

I've got this on the short list of things I want to add to my bike, but I have a couple of questions:
  • When I look at the stock setup, the backrest on the tourpack is about even with the back edge of the seat. Seems to me that if the tourpack is moved back, it would leave a gap there. Is that a problem for the passenger?
  • I'm also thinking about getting the detachable tourpak kit later on. Is George's relocator kit compatible with the detachable kit?
Thanks,

Thanks,
There is a wider gap, that's why I did the 1 1/4" back and not the 2 1/2". My wife, too, said 1 1/4" was enough (insert joke here). It's not really noticeable, and it makes it easier to remove the seat and clean the top of the rear fender.

Not sure on the detachable question...
