Has anyone use this mount? Wondering how it performs. I'm currently using the Buell front motor mount which is way better than the new improved Harley mount (less vibes) but they only have been lasting 2 or 3 thousand miles. I recently ordered a velva ride mount but haven't received it yet. I've heard good and bad about the Velva ride, thought I'd give it a try.
Today I noticed and ad for Glide-Pro's new mount that claims to be very smooth and is designed after the old 79B harley mount that was discontinued.
Looking for feedback before I install the Velva Ride.
Thanks,
Frank
Since you are spending time and $$$ on the front motor mount, I'd recommend you have your bike's alignment checked/corrected. The HD Service Manual explains the procedure for doing the alignment. Frankly, if the engine/frame/swingarm alignment is cocked, changing the front motor mount probably isn't going to cure whatever issues you are having.
I run the Velva-Ride motor mount and their 2 shock absorber thingy's.
I notice a lot less vibration pretty much instantaneously after I changed them out.
Word of caution, believe it or not, not ALL dealerships have the frame alignment tool.
My local dealer didn't.
Ended up buying my own.
Might wanna to say something like, "Hey, not being a smartass..but all dealers don't have the alignment tool. Can I see yours to insure I'm getting what I'm paying for?"
My dealer told me they had it, all along knowing they didn't.
