Had mine off maybe twice since 03..........they stay on.

I don't understand the guys that buy the Ultra Classic's, and then strip everything off. Is it just to get a free CB on a Classic?

Mine come off every June thru August........Makes a HUGE difference in cooling.........2nd choice would be remove (not just open) the vents, my bud does that it helps out alot.........for me, I can get the lowers off (& put away in bubble wrap) in less than 15 minutes...............$ .02 WD

It is better to have it and not use it, than to want and don't have it

Mine stay on all the time, do mostly open road riding. If you look at the bike from the front the lowers make a semi wind funnel directly on the engine IMO this cools the motor more with them on than off.. I use a oil temp gauge with a jag cooler and oil temps rarely go over 190 at speed.

I live at 6700 feet. My lowers stay on year round. Of course at 6700 feet, I only get to ride a few months out of the year. ;-)
