Remove lower in summer?

Remove lower in summer?

Just had my 09 Ultra in for it's first service. The tech told me that Harley recommends removing the lowers during the hot (Florida) summers. A friend, who also owns an Ultra said that he heard it's better to leave them on. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Yeah, how much did your tech want to charge to remove 'em?

I leave mine on all year and just leave the vents open in the summer, and it gets hot in NM! Besides they're easy to take off, you don't need a tech to do it.

Someone mentioned a quick release for this, haven't found one anywhere. Anyone have information? I know its only three bolts but....

The tech was suggesting that I take them off, which I've done. Thought I'd try it since it only took a couple of minutes. The dealer offers the quick release, but I don't see why anyone would want it.
