im boaterb aka brian , just joined the group glad to be in here.
im a marine & metric bike technition . i have a 2006 roadglide i bought brand new , im getting ready to do a 95 in kit . now with all the bikes ive rebuilt ,or upgraded in the performance end , and in all my many years in this field ,i wanted to get some more opinions from this group (on my engine hopup) . there are so many different applications ,it makes you crazy.im looking to do a good street mod , at the moment im thinking of a screamin eagle 95 inch kit , with with the s/e mcr heads , and the se 257 cams . this kit comes with the flat top pistons , now im thinking domed pistons for increased compression ? i think my cam choice should be good ,but not quite sure . id like to try to get somewhere around 100hp & 100 ftpd of torque . any feedbacks i would be so greatfull.
thanks
Good to have you. Mine is an 08 but you can read about my build by clicking on the link in my sig. You will get alot of advice here and most will be good. Everyone has there own thoughts on builds though. I am not giving any advice, just facts on my build and you can decide what will work for you. Good luck...
I'm planning on the exact same thing for my S.G., I just posted a couple of minutes ago asking if anybody had tried this, and if the numbers were verifiable. I'm looking for the same thing, 100/100. Price seems pretty decent if it is an honest 100/100. Also, does anybody have this, and if so, are their numbers verifiable? Stage 1 Street Performer 103 " Kit $1536*
Kit includes:
[*]
Provides "Bolt On" performance upgrade for the Twin Cam 96.
*This kit retails for $1617 if purchased seperately!
What ever you do, make sure you get a combination of parts that were designed to work together. You're right, the options seem endless. Take your time and ask lots of questions.
I have yet to modify my '06 (actually not going to mod this bike). But the research I did and all the advice I got from people here and elsewhere said to go with almost anything but Screaming Eagle. Sorry, not knocking HD but even their aftermarket, so called performance line has to comply with all of the Gov. restrictions. From what I gleaned from this Forum the top choices were: HeadQuarters and GMR. Just my opinion but you asked.
thanks for your replys guys
i agree theres almost at times to many options to choose from ,it will make you NUTS . its a shame that s&s and all the other big aftermarket comps cant offer more complete hopupkits that were more complete with less confusion .

Not all SE combo's are bad. The problem with most SE kits is that they are pretty basic but people expect big numbers just because it is a 103 kit and they can get it for $1500 or so. To get the performance from SE, you really need headwork or the high flow heads. You are correct though, most do say to go with some of the other kits. I believe the builder and tuner have as much to do with the outcome as the parts. The best advice has already been said, do your homework and use the right compatable parts to get the performance you are looking for, regardless of the brand.
