You did the right thing. Don't give it a second thought.
what kind of stand is that, and how much, i just like the way your bike sits on it... i can buy a full stand for about 500, but it is used and doesnt have the piece you can remove for the wheels, which is what i want, anyhow, not to jack the thread, i thought i would ask... if you can trust your bike on it, i know i can trust mine
I agree, first person with the cash gets it. I had someone ask for pics of a seat that I selling. I had a friend take/send pics. I sent a follow up email to see if they got the pics. No relpy.
The way I see it is He wanted pictures and the other guy wanted the item. so, send the first guy the pics and then everyone should be happy, because they all got what they wanted.
I would have sent a note to the first guy telling him I had an offer in hand but would give them first dibs. If they decided they didn't want it or didn't respond then I'd sell them to the guy with the green.
You might consider including in your next Classified add, "First person to commit to purchase this item, wins it".
You can't really wait around for someone to kick the tires while another person is standing there with cash in hand ready to buy.
Heck, a year from now, the other guy won't even remember this, unless of course he starts
stalking you for it. 8-)

Looking at it all now, I guess this would have the way to go, but there was several items and several people asking for pictures, and part numbers, what year etc.....and you loose track of who wanted what...and I didn't get any "hold it for me pending pictures" or deposits...just interested in it...
But rest assured, next add will have disclaimers attached....no confusions.
i had the same thing last month. i posted up a set of headers, one guy asks some questions but no commitment, another guy comes along ready to buy so i sold to him then the first guy publicly cries that he got shanked. wtf.
Well I'll say something about your selling etiquette.
I asked you about selling your mufflers before you even posted them in the classifieds, as I noticed you talking about changing them out in a post you made. We exchange pm's about them and I finally ask for pics. 4 days later you send me a postage stamp size pic of the mufflers. Same day that I check my email you have the mufflers listed in the classifieds and sold to someone else... The same day you send me a pic you listed them here?? IMHO you suck as a seller and I wouldn't buy a damn thing from you ever.
Turned out great for me as I got the same pipes off Ebay for less cash then you wanted anyway.
