I'm planning to get two set of helmetless headsets and I was reading one of the supplier note and they mentionned that:
Note on 2006 and newer Models: 2006 Harley-Davidson Ultra models have insufficient voltage in the audio system to power the microphones of both headsets in "intercom mode". The listening functions are perfect for rider and passenger, and a single rider is be able to use the two-way radio function.
First I've read that, but I haven't tried using a second headset (yet), so I'm curious about this too. Maybe the PTT switch prevents both mikes from being active at the same time that way there's no danger of overloading the system.
Who is the manufacturer? The manufacturers I looked into didn't note that as a problem. But then again I didn't look at powered microphones, maybe that is the problem.
I have one set of them & have no problem talking to my wife on the intercom. However, she has the HD headsets in her helmet, so I don't know if that makes a difference.
